1. Acceptance of terms
By downloading, installing, or using the Paws & Pace application or website (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
The Service is provided by Ascendant Ventures Ltd, registered in England & Wales ("we", "us", "our"). These Terms are governed by English law.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Users aged 13–17 must have verifiable parental or guardian consent before using the Service. By using the Service you confirm that you meet this age requirement. The Service is not intended for use outside the United Kingdom, though we do not actively restrict access.
3. Your account
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must notify us immediately at info@pawsandpace.co.uk if you suspect unauthorised access. We are not liable for losses caused by unauthorised use of your account.
You may only create one account per person. Accounts are non-transferable.
4. The Service and subscriptions
Free tier
A free account gives you access to core features including basic walk tracking and pet profiles. Feature availability may change over time.
Pro and Pro+ subscriptions
Premium features require a paid subscription, billed monthly through the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Stripe. Prices are shown at the point of purchase and may change with reasonable notice. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date through your app store or account settings.
Refunds are subject to the refund policy of the relevant platform (Apple, Google, or Stripe). We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods except where required by law.
UK consumer rights
If you are a UK consumer, you have a 14-day right to cancel a new subscription under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Exercising this right means you will lose access to premium features immediately. To cancel within this period, email info@pawsandpace.co.uk.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in breach of any applicable law
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the app
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its systems
- Upload malicious code, viruses, or any other harmful material
- Use the Service to collect data about other users without their consent
6. AI-generated content and health disclaimer
Important: AI-generated insights, walk analyses, breed identifications, and health recommendations within Paws & Pace are provided for informational purposes only. They are not a substitute for professional veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified veterinarian for your pet's health needs.
AI features use large language models and computer vision that may produce inaccurate or incomplete outputs. We do not guarantee the accuracy of any AI-generated content and accept no liability for decisions made on the basis of such content.
7. Your content and data
You retain ownership of all data you provide to the Service, including pet profiles, walk data, and health records ("Your Content"). By using the Service you grant us a limited licence to store and process Your Content solely to provide the Service to you.
We do not use Your Content to train AI models, sell data to third parties, or use it for advertising. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
You can export or delete your data at any time via Your Data Rights.
8. Intellectual property
The Paws & Pace name, logo, app design, and original content are owned by Ascendant Ventures Ltd and protected by UK and international intellectual property law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our prior written consent.
9. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice. For material changes affecting paid subscribers, we will give at least 30 days' notice or a pro-rata refund.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ascendant Ventures Ltd's total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the greater of: (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) £50.
We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses, loss of data, or loss of profit. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.
If you are a UK consumer, you retain all statutory rights that cannot be excluded under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
11. Termination
You may close your account at any time from within the app or by emailing us. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, with immediate effect for serious breaches or with 7 days' notice otherwise.
On termination, your right to use the Service ceases. We will delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will give you at least 30 days' notice of material changes by email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except that nothing prevents you from bringing a claim in the courts of your local jurisdiction if you are a consumer and applicable law so permits.
